Twisted Aluminium Wire 3 Strands

Twisting wire is a fundamental skill for any stop motion animator, but it can be time-consuming. Our pre-twisted 3 strand 2mm aluminium animation wire takes the hassle out of the process, allowing you to focus on character design and animation.

By twisting three strands of 2mm high-quality aluminium, we’ve created a wire that maintains the malleability of thinner wire while providing the structural integrity of something more heavy-duty. Use with our 5mm heat shrink tubing for added durability, which is something we do for the arms and spines of our AliExtra Armatures.

We also offer our 2mm wire twisted together in 5 Strand and 7 Strand sizes. Each size is available in the following lengths:

• 3-Strand (2mm): 8 Metre length – Ideal for smaller puppets and arms.

• 5-Strand (2mm): 5 Metre length – Great for legs and torso support.

• 7-Strand (2mm): 4 Metre length – Maximum strength for heavy puppets or rigs.
