Precision 4cm Core for Expressive Heads

Weight in the head of a puppet is one of the biggest challenges in stop motion animation. Our 40mm polystyrene balls provide a feather-light core for character heads. This reduces the likelihood of your character becoming top heavy and lessens the stress in joints of your armature. This 4cm sphere is easy to sand or cut, making it simple to customize for your character.

Our range of Polyballs come in a variety of sizes. Use a combination of sizes to make stop motion puppets using Milliput and Animation Wire. Consider using a plasticine, like Chroma Clay to cover your puppet. This method offers a plasticine look but a much lighter, easier to animate puppet.

Polyballs are great for use as the head of one of our Stop Motion Armatures, We provide cut to size lengths of Square Brass Tube. One is attached to the armature's neck and the other can be inserted into the ball.  This enables the head to easily slot into place.
